  • Overview

    The EHR Specialist is responsible for the end-user support, maintenance, licensing and operations pertaining to Tiburcio Vasquez Health Center’s (TVHC) Electronic Health Record (EHR) and Electronic Practice Management (EPM) systems, as well as other ancillary clinical/operations applications and interfaces. This position is responsible for training end-users on the EPM systems and developing best practices based workflows and training materials.


    This is a full-time benefited position working 40 hours per week during clinic hours, typically Monday through Friday with some periodic evening and weekend  hours. The ideal candidate has excellent customer service skills working with diverse populations and has previous medical office work experience. Community Health and Nextgen experience is a plus.

    • Functions as a subject matter expert (SME) on the EHR and EPM.
    • Maintains a comprehensive understanding of EHR/EPM features, issues, forthcoming enhancements, and services. This includes file maintenance, and the system administrator module.
    • Delivers exceptional training/on-boarding experiences to all new hires and existing staff, resulting in a high level of user satisfaction.
    • Assists with project management EPM/EHR implementations and migrations.
    • On-boards and off-boards clinical support staff including adds, changes and deletes in the EMP/EHR applications and other systems and registries used by TVHC.
    • Adds, changes and deletes staff in the EMP applications.
    • Performs helpdesk functions, providing technical assistance to end-users and internal departments at TVHC based on user tickets and telephone call.


    • A bachelor degree in a health-related or training field is preferred. Specific work experience in implementation and support of electronic healthcare systems may be substituted.
    • Specific work experience in implementation of electronic health records systems and training of clinical support staff and other/or clinical support functions.
    • This position requires troubleshooting and customer service experience.
